Here’s How To Keep It Simple

7th March 2025

We’ve all been there—scrolling through Instagram, bombarded with advice from fitness influencers, health coaches, and self-proclaimed experts. One post tells you to cut carbs, another tells you to load up on protein. One video swears by fasting, another claims small, frequent meals are the answer. It’s endless, and honestly? It’s exhausting.

I see it all the time with my clients—women who come to me feeling completely lost because social media has pulled them in a thousand different directions. They don’t know what to eat, what workouts to do, or whether they’re even doing it right. And it’s no wonder—because when you’re constantly being told what you should be doing, it’s easy to lose sight of what actually works for you.

Personalisation Over Perfection

The first thing I do when I work with someone on their nutrition isn’t handing them a meal plan or rattling off a list of “must-have” supplements. I start with them.

• What does your daily routine look like?

• How do you currently eat?

• Do you have time to track your food? If not, what approach will be sustainable for you?

For some of my clients, tracking food works well. For others, it’s overwhelming. So instead, I might have them take photos of their meals for a few days so we can get a clear, realistic picture of their habits—without adding unnecessary stress. Because that’s what this is about—creating something that works for you, not against you.

And here’s what I need you to hear: you don’t need another voice on the internet telling you what you should be doing. You need guidance that meets you where you’re at. I’m not here to tell you that you need 150g of protein, that you must take creatine, or that magnesium is the magic solution. That’s just another voice adding to the noise, making you feel like you’re not doing enough.

So What Should You Focus On?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice online, take a breath. Let’s simplify things. Here’s what actually matters:

✅ Start with what you can do consistently – You don’t need a perfect diet, workout routine, or supplement stack. Just focus on making one better choice at a time.

✅ Listen to your body, not an influencer – What makes you feel good? Energised? Satisfied? Pay attention to that, not what someone else’s body needs.

✅ Drown out the noise – Unfollow, mute, or hit “Not Interested” on content that makes you feel like you’re failing. You’re not. You just need to focus on your path.

✅ Find guidance that works for you – Whether it’s tracking, meal photos, or intuitive eating, do what fits your lifestyle—not what looks good on social media.

✅ Remember that health should feel good – It shouldn’t be about stress, guilt, or obsessing over every little detail. It should be something you enjoy.

At Sunday Sanctuary Health Co., everything I stand for is about you. Health and fitness should be simple, enjoyable, and made for your life—not something that makes you feel like you need to be perfect 24/7.
