Strength isn’t just about muscles. It’s about showing up for yourself—even when life feels uncertain, exhausting, or overwhelming.
We’ve been taught to measure strength by how much we lift, how hard we push, or how fast we move. But the truth is, strength is built in the moments we don’t see: in quiet resilience, in navigating change, in trusting ourselves even when we’re unsure.
For so many women, strength isn’t just physical—it’s the ability to keep going, even when we feel like we have nothing left.
What Strength Really Looks Like (And It’s Not Just Physical)
• Strength is choosing to keep showing up, even when you’re exhausted.
• Strength is navigating life when you don’t have all the answers (hello, motherhood, career shifts, personal growth).
• Strength is redefining what it means to be strong when your body changes—pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, chronic illness.
We’ve been conditioned to think strength is about bouncing back, staying in control, and looking a certain way. But real strength is about adapting, evolving, and embracing where we are right now.
My Story: Strength As A Coach & Business Owner
Some days, I wake up unsure of what I’m doing.
Some days, I doubt myself.
Some days, I feel like I’m making it up as I go.
And that’s okay.
Running a business, coaching women, and creating a space where people feel safe and supported takes mental and emotional strength every single day. It’s not about having all the answers—it’s about learning, growing, and showing up for myself and for the women in my community.
At Sunday Sanctuary Health Co., I see strength in every woman who walks through the door. Not because of how much they lift, but because of their commitment to themselves.
The Pressure Women Face: “Bouncing Back” & Body Changes
We’ve all seen the messages:
“Lose the baby weight fast.”
“Get your pre-baby body back.”
“Shrink your waist, tone your arms, lift your glutes.”
The fitness industry has taught us to equate strength with how we look. But let’s be real—your body is meant to change. Pregnancy, postpartum, aging, stress, lifestyle shifts—these all impact how we feel in our skin.
Strength isn’t about shrinking.
It’s about owning your body at every stage.
If you’ve felt unseen or disconnected from yourself—whether that’s after having kids, going through menopause, or simply because your body feels different than it used to—you’re not alone.
And you don’t have to figure it out alone, either.
3 Ways to Redefine Strength & Feel More at Home in Your Body
✅ Reflect on Your Strength: What does strength mean to you? Think about a time when you felt your strongest—it may have had nothing to do with exercise.
✅ Check-In With Yourself Daily: Instead of focusing on how you look, ask yourself how you feel. Strength isn’t just about the physical—it’s about mental and emotional resilience too.
✅ Take One Small Action: Maybe it’s getting to class. Maybe it’s choosing to rest instead of pushing through. Maybe it’s reaching out for support instead of struggling alone.
Final Thought
Strength isn’t about doing it alone. It’s about finding the people who remind you what you’re capable of. And at Sunday Sanctuary, we’ve got your back.
